Prevention and Recovery Through Radical Self-Care

  • Fatigue or Burnout

Are you a paid or unpaid carer that is experiencing burnout, fatigue or stress in your role?

  • Overwhelmed or Unseen

Does your caring role often leave you feeling overwhelmed, unappreciated and undervalued?

  • Adverse Health Impacts

Is the responsibility you’ve been carrying in your caring role adversely impacting your health, wellbeing and energy levels?

The Growing Challenge for Carers & Caregivers

Current research highlights that of the 3 million unpaid carers and 2.5 million paid carers in Australia, that over 90% reported feeling physically or mentally exhausted with burnout, while 70% of frontline workers have indicated they have experienced some form of burnout in their roles.

But it Doesn't Have to Be that Way ...

My name is Tess, and I’m a psychologist and training consultant. After having personally experienced patterns of stressful work in high demand environments, which left me recovering from PTSD, burnout, pneumonia, an auto-immune condition and stroke … I knew there had to be a better way!

Thankfully that experience and over 4 years of research led me to discovering a better holistic approach based on Radical Self-Care that could provide carers and caregivers with a sustainable approach to finding greater levels of meaning and purpose in their caring without compromising their health.

The Impact of Fatigue and Burnout for Carers

  • 5.5 Million

Total number of both paid and unpaid carers in Australia, as of 2022. (ABS, 2024)

  • 70%

Research by Monash University highlighted 70% of frontline healthcare workers have experienced burnout.

  • 90%

Over 90% of carers reported feeling physically or mental exhausted with burnout highly prevalent amongst unpaid carers.

Based on 4 Years of Intensive Research

Through my research I discovered that there were really three core issues at the heart of all carer fatigue, stress and burnout issues:

  1. A deep sense of feeling overwhelmed
  2. Not being fully valued, seen or heard
  3. A lack of awareness of the negative impacts on our health and nervous system

That’s why I created the Carer Fatigue and Burnout Program so that you can learn to value and prioritise your self-care, and find greater satisfaction in your role and your contribution to others and to society.
